Lava Mountain Set

Here's the BG from my previous submission. I thought I'd post it as a separate piece as it took me more effort that the character art As I mentioned before, the background is very mechanical and contains a lot of symmetry, so it required a bit of basic math and I had to dig a little deeper into Photoshop's feature set to get the desired result. Yeah, I hope no one gets a headache from looking at this, as I used gaussian blur to achieve a kind of depth of field effect to add a little more dimension. Another thing to mention is this is more than just a background. It's essentially a functioning set, the gears could potentially be animated on their axis

People may recognise this scene from Lava Mountain in the recent Sonic Lost World game on Wii U.
